Habit Tracker

Introducing monthly planners! I've been creating these for a while now. The process is straightforward. My daughter and I take a few minutes to determine which habits and tasks should be part of the upcoming month. We list the tasks, write them down, print the tracker, and display it on the board before the month begins.

Afterwards, every day (or at least every alternate day), my daughter reviews her set goals/tasks for the day and marks off completed(tick) or unfinished(cross). She also updates for previous days if there are any misses. A crucial aspect is that we avoid discussing the details of each task; she is responsible for her own habits. There are no rewards for completing tasks or reprimands for neglecting them; she is answerable for her actions. Most trackers are filled, while few remain empty, yet it aids her in organizing her thoughts and planning her day.

The tasks are quite simple, such as completing homework, drinking two bottles of water, watching a jolly phonics video – all easily integrated into the daily routine.

P.S. Not every child may adhere to it consistently, but it's worth a try. Additionally, consider printing out your own habit tracker and marking off your tasks. This can encourage the child to follow suit. Attached is the printable for the January Habit tracker based on the winter theme, one with Elsa and one without, and I'll be sharing the February version soon.
